Yesterday we went to Hastings (MN) on an errand. It was a quick trip – a short visit and then back on the road to home. But first we decided to take a quick peek at some of the areas of down. When we were first married we lived in Hastings. My husband live there for most of his time growing up.
First turn – to drive through downtown. Since I was taking pictures from the jeep, I only took a few. Clearly we need to plan a day trip to check out the antique, thrift and gift stores.

At the east end of Main Street is the train depot – and luckily for me – a train was there. As you will see by the pictures in this blog, I love trains and buildings.

And then, to get back to Vermillion Street (which leads to the bridge over the Mississippi and the road to home), we went past J. D. Hudson Manufacturing, which is now vacant. My husband worked there many years ago. What caught my eye was the colored panels over windows amid the icicles and snow.

And that ends our very short tour. Thanks for reading! I hope you return!
