Back on the road …

Yesterday was a beautiful sunny, warm day. We went to St. Cloud (about 30 miles from our house) on an errand, had a late breakfast, and then decided to go on a drive. We were fully prepared – with a thermos of coffee and a cooler of ice water and coke — and we were ready to ride in our comfortable conversion van.

We headed south out of St. Cloud, driving through many small towns, randomly turning from one road to another. We were in Kimball, Kingston, Marty, Dassel, Cokato, Waverly, Buffalo, St. Augusta, and likely more. As usual, I took a lot of photos – using two cameras. Unfortunately, however, there was something wrong with the card in one camera – so most of the photos are gone. (Sigh) We’ll just have to go back.

We are always looking for old buildings. I managed to get a few shots with the camera that was working. All of the photos have been converted to black and white. I hope you enjoy them.

This charming little shed is still standing strong but needs a little window repair and perhaps some paint.
This barn is on it’s way down. You can see the building behind it on the right side of the photo and in a close-up photo at the bottom of this page.
I love the cupola and the dormer windows on the roof as well as the window in the peak – in the middle of the roof. At one time, this was a grand barn.
Another view of the falling barn.
A close-up of the damage to the barn.

Thanks for reading! I hope you return.
