On one of our recent ‘off the beaten path’ trips, we found ourselves in Vermillion, Minnesota. Vermillion is a small town of just over 400 people in one square mile. It is close to Highway 52 and the towns of Hastings, Coates, Hampton and Rosemount.
As we travel, I am looking for old barns and other architecture. However, traveling down the main street (to connect with Highway 52), we found a creature — an amazing metal creation.

After a little research, I found that the creature was made by local Vermillion artist Dale Lewis. Click here to find a newspaper story about him – https://www.rivertowns.net/entertainment/art/4632065-vermillion-artist-envisions-prehistoric-creatures-scrap-metal
And click here to visit his web page – https://www.artistdalelewis.com/
We also found these two hanging around. I’m not sure who created them (perhaps it was Mr. Lewis) but they are fun, nonetheless.

Thanks for reading! I hope you return.
If you get a chance, take a road trip to somewhere you don’t normally visit. It doesn’t have to be far – but it’s a great way to ‘get away.’
